Learning Outcomes

This course introduces students to the circuit analysis methods, developed for Integrated Circuits. Upon completion of the course, the student is able to: - Understand numerical methods used in circuit simulation and solve typical simulation problems. - Develop the admittance matrix for circuit consisting of passive and active components. - Extract the model parameters for the transistors. - Solve the roots from the admittance matrix.

2. Models for active devices. Extracting the model parameters for the transistor.   Creating simulation scripts for automating the parameter extraction.   
3. Solving the roots directly from the admittance matrix and via the characteristic polynomial.  Eigen value Numerical Methods in Mathematics for Engineers.   
4. Methods for DC and transient analysis of linear and nonlinear circuits.     
5. Time varying root-locus method for analyzing and comparing different oscillators.  Analyzing quality factor degradation in oscillators by the root-locus.
