Description:
The aim of the course is to consider the physical principles that underlie in biological systems and processes, and to elucidate their role in biological function. The emphasis is on understanding the basic principles of cellular phenomena including the function of both individual nanoscale engines and large-scale collective units such as cell membranes.

Additional information of course implementation:
The full course covers material equal to 5 cu. It is also possible to pass a mathematically lighter version of the course with a size of 3 cu. All course material and lectures will be given in English. Only the full 5 cu version of the course is suitable for advanced studies in physics, and postgraduate studies. The 3 cu version is aimed for students from study programmes other than physics. This course corresponds to the course FYS-7200 Biologinen fysiikka.
