Learning Outcomes
After completing the course, students will have the necessary basic knowledge of aerobic and anaerobic biological treatment processes. They will master the basic principles, terminology, reactor configurations, and related calculations of both processes, which will enable them to proceed to advanced levels in the field.
Content
Content | Core content | Complementary knowledge | Specialist knowledge |
1. | Basic principles, design, and operation of aerobic and anaerobic biological wastewater treatment, with emphasis on metabolic processes, microbial dynamics, mass balance, kinetics, reactors configuration, and sludge treatment and disposal |
Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
Students' understanding of the course material is evaluated based on final exam, exercises, and presentations.
Assessment scale:
Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
