Description:

This is a laboratory course on biological wastewater treatment processes where students will gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and techniques for advanced level applications in the field of aerobic and anaerobic treatment processes, particularly those of the chemostat principles and microbial population dynamics and kinetics.

Additional information of course implementation:

Prerequisite: course KEB22006 Biological processes in environmental engineering (KEB 22000 in Finnish) or an equivalent course, that is, a course or part of a course at your home university that covers the basic principles of biological wastewater treatment. The upper limit for this course is 12 students International students who register for this course without preliminary assessment may be dropped from this course if their background is not sufficient for the course level. Vaccine certificates for tetanus and hepatitis A and B for eligible students are recommended
