Students will be enrolled on the course according to the time of sign-up, priority given to 1) students who have completed the Intercultural Communication Skills (KIE-08006) course; 2) TUT students to whom the course is compulsory. 20 participants will be enrolled. To ensure the group diversity, ca. 40% of students from international master's degree programmes and 60% of students from degree programmes in Finnish

Requirements

A minimum attendance of 80% is compulsory. The student also must complete the individual and team tasks assigned in the course. The group will meet a total of 24h. We will meet physically or/and virtually as well.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation

Learning Outcomes

After completing the course the student will identify how global, national and the local culture affect the workplace. Students will identify different styles of leadership and working style among cultures. Students will contrast and apply different strategies to enhance the peformance of the multicultural workforce.Students will be able to analyze and formultate strategies and create solutions for practical cases involving multicultural workforce. After completing the course the student can apply knowledge and skills of intercultural communication in multicultural workplaces and international business. Students will gain an understanding of actions and reactions of colleagues, clients and customers.
