Learning Outcomes

This course attempts to provide a unified overview of the field of industrial communications. Students will learn the basics of data communications, networks, protocols and the application to distributed automation systems. After the course students should be able given a problem to create an industrial network to classify and identify possible constrains to justify the solution. Students should be able to compare different industrial (e.g. fieldbus) protocols.

The grade will be calculated as: 40% final examination and 60% course assignments and laboratory works.

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
