Requirements

In order to complete this course you will have to attend keynote lecture(s) and prepare and give a lecture about a given topic. Final grade is based on final exam and your own lecture.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation

Learning Outcomes

After finishing the course, the student is able to define what various mechanisms induce degradation of polymers and what can be done to prevent, slow down or control these processes. Student is also familiar with methods that can be used to evaluate degradation of polymers and is able to analyze and apply these results in practice.

Content

Content Core content Complementary knowledge Specialist knowledge
1. Importance of polymer degradation.
2. Mechanisms of polymer degradation for different polymer types/structures.
3. Means of polymer degradation.
4. Effects of polymer degradation on product properties.
5. Polymer stabilization and destabilization.
