Description:
Signal processing for 3D cognition The focus of the seminar is to explore the principles and the potential of 3D cognition as a design paradigm in machine vision. It concentrates on studying the modern foundation for machine vision. We aim to focus on the principled benefits, properties, and limitations of current computational approaches instead of details of algorithmic methods. The aim is to reveal useful viewpoints that are applicable in practical engineering work. The seminar is composed of invited lectures ranging from imaging techniques to computational methods in knowledge representation and machine learning. The students will give presentations on selected topics, including a hands-on viewpoint on a practical implementation. Individual guidance sessions with the instructor are available for students to help the preparation of their presentations.
