Learning Outcomes

This course starts the student¿s journey towards Master¿s Thesis. The course will help students to get acquainted with scientific research and writing of a research report in the management field. After completing the course, the student is familiar with the academic writing conventions (structure of the report, meaningful use of citations, etc.) used in the management field and is able to apply them in written reports. In addition, the student will learn how to analyze scientific books and articles, compare the knowledge in different sources, and organize them in creative ways in order to build a conceptual framework of his/her own. Conceptual framework defines the terms and managerial tools used in the research report as well as their interrelationships. In order to build interesting and meaningful conceptual frameworks, some practice is needed. However, in addition to the Master¿s Thesis, writing skills are also important for young managers. Today written reports and memos are important tools for managers when communicating their ideas and decisions within business organizations. Thus, in addition to the academic matters, the student will develop their competencies in writing good managerial reports in general.
