Tampere University of Applied Sciences is an equal, discrimination-free and safe community for all its members. This is the message we stress for both students and staff. TAMK takes part in the Pride week in Tampere by showing its support to the ‘Being as humans together’ theme with a rainbow flag flying at the main campus.

June 2023 is the theme month for equality in Finland, the Pride month. TAMK’s commitment to the theme of diversity and equality shows with a bright Pride flag flying at the main campus on Monday 12 June.

”We have a huge, diverse and multicultural community where each and every one should be able to feel safe. All of us can support this with our own actions. And if any defects appear, we have the right and the responsibility to come forward. ‘We respect diversity in our community’ is one of TAMK’s key values,” reminds President Tapio Kujala.

Linda Vallenius, the Chair of Students’ Union Tamko, was proudly raising the Pride flag on campus.

”We wish you all a happy Pride! Let’s celebrate love and rainbow rights. We are not quite ready with equality, but together we are moving to the right direction. Tamko wants to be part of building a safe and appreciative community with no place for shame or fear.”

Tampere University of Applied Sciences has an Equality plan involving the whole community, both students and staff.
