RDIC experts

At TAMK, we carry out RDIC activities with a wide range of experts. The Applied Research Center manages the strategic development of RDIC activities, and the Project Management Office provides expert support for the implementation of projects. Experts from the different schools plan and implement RDIC work in their own field.  On this page, you will find the contact information of TAMK's RDIC employees by unit.

Applied Research Center (ARC)

ARC is a multidisciplinary centre of excellence for applied research and an RDIC partner in selected strategic thematic and spearhead areas of TAMK. Our main goal is to strengthen the profile of TAMK and Pirkanmaa in applied RDIC activities, and to increase the international and impactful RDIC activities of companies and communities in the region. 

Project Management Office (PMO)

We take care of the professional preparation and implementation of TAMK's RDIC projects. Our tasks include the creation of national and international networks for RDIC activities, support in the preparation of funding applications, coordination of projects together with substance experts, quality assurance of projects and contract matters. 

School of Business and Media

We encompass higher education, RDIC and commercial education focused on business administration and hospitality management as well as audio and video media studies. Our unit comprises 110 lecturers and other professionals working together with over 2 600 students. Our unit includes Proakatemia, Catering Studio and TAMK's functions on Mediapolis

School of Pedagogical Innovations and Culture

Our unit includes, among others, the School of Professional Teacher Education (TAOK) and TAMK Music.  

TAOK acts as a national and international developer of vocationally oriented education. This requires continuous and close cooperation with educational organisations, and the RDIC activities are rich and diverse.

TAMK Music trains musicians and music pedagogues in a very close and diverse cooperation with working life. 

School of Built Environment and Bioeconomy

Our school produces diverse education, research and innovation services for our cooperation partners and future professionals in the construction and environmental field. We are one of the largest Finnish educators in construction and building services engineering. Our connecting competences are digitalisation of design, production, products and services and continuous development of intelligent systems in construction and bioeconomy fields.

Our laboratories offer their research and analysis services in building and building engineering, textile engineering, chemical and environmental engineering, and paper and packaging engineering. 

School of Social Services and Healthcare

Approximately 150 specialists and more than 2,800 students work and study in our school. We participate in several national and international working life research and development projects. The projects focus on future competence needs in social services and health care. Brain health and genomic knowledge are among our key knowledge fields. 

School of Industrial Engineering

We train future experts in industrial technology competence areas and carry out development and research projects that improve the operating conditions of companies in the Pirkanmaa region. Our operations in practical RDIC projects are growing, and we are happy to involve more business partners. OpenLab, our RDIC environment, offers companies and communities a wide range of research and development services.
