ISA-TAU - New materials and novel design and modelling methods
ISA-TAU research project will concentrate on development of new high strength steels and novel design and analysis methods to control and improve fretting and plain fatigue resistance. Ultimate target is to speed-up product and material development process as well as creating fundamental knowledge for the basis of new sustainable products, which serves Finnish export industry.
Goal
The goals of the project are:
- To develop advanced design methodology and simulation tools for the evaluation of component level fretting fatigue to increase reliability and lifetime of the fretting prone steel assemblies
- Understanding the strengthening mechanisms that occur in novel AHSS Q&P steels and improving their fretting and plain fatigue resistance.
- To establish metallurgical basis for future AHSS grades. The knowledge gained from the project work will be beneficial in the development of fourth generation AHSS.
- To design and implement a general framework for constitutive modelling software using the Julia programming language to be used in the JuliaFem-system.
