The Centre of Knowledge in Real Estate Development (KCRED) is a future-oriented research unit. The KCRED scans global change trends and analyzes their impacts on the real estate and construction business. The KCRED develops new real estate development practices and business models for companies that meet future needs. New innovations and their utilization in real estate and construction business play a key role in the research activities of the research unit.

The success of the KCRED is based on the successful combination of practical business development and scientific research. The practical usability of the results is also important for the KCRED.

Research focus and goals

The focus of the KCRED scientific research is defined as follows: The KCRED studies the phenomena of value creation in real estate development, the management of business networks in real estate development, and the effects of the institutional operating environment of the field on the development of the field and the diffusion of new innovations.

The KCRED is also responsible for teaching real estate development at the University of Tampere. The KCRED organizes the Circular Economy in Real Estate Development and Building Construction -course in the autumn semester and the Real Estate Development -course in the spring semester.
