Safety observations are being studied and developed at Tampere University
Safety observations have long been an important concrete tool in safety work at workplaces. However, there are many things to consider in the practical implementation of safety observations and more research is also needed. A two-year (1.2.2024 31.5.2026) research project is under way at the Centre for Safety Management and Engineering to study the role of safety observations in safety management. The study develops a process model for the introduction and implementation of safety observations in the workplace that takes into account key stages, problems and benefits. The funders are the Finnish Work Environment Fund, the Tampere University and other participating organizations involved in the research.
