Research facilities

Bioreactors (Sartorius B, Sartorius C, Applikon)

The imaging station Vilber NEWTON 7.0 FT500 can be used for bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging of in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro applications. In the research field of synthetic biology at Bio and Circular Economy, the imaging station is typically used to visualize biological processes in microbial cells. For example, it is used to screen microbial cell factories and whole cell-biosensor applications. &nbsp;

	<li>Camera: DarQ-11 1” Scientific CCD Sensor, 2160 x 2160 pixels (4.6 MP), with absolute cooling to -90°C</li>
	<li>Lens f/0.70</li>
	<li>Fluorescence excitation with 8 channels at 420-780 nm, emission filters at 500-850 nm</li>
	<li>Detection at fg-level for bioluminescence, pg-level for fluorescence</li>
	<li>Field-of-view to image from 6 x 6 cm to 20 x 20 cm</li>
	<li>Platform’s temperature can be adjusted between +20°C and +40°C, which enables stationary incubation of bacterial plates inside the station/during imaging</li>

Research Infrastructures of Materials Science and Environmental Engineering 

Facilities for molecular biology, microbiology, and controlled microbial cultivations (including GMO) to engineer and study biological systems, such bacterial metabolism, performance of microbes (inc. GMO), microbial communities, and their interactions with environment. The facilities also include settings for basic molecular (DNA, RNA, protein, lipid) biology work.
