TAMK Student's Handbook

Official transcript of records for exchange students

A transcript of your academic records will not be given or sent to you or your home university automatically. You can download an electronically signed and verified Transcript of records from PAKKI: PAKKI -> Orders -> Choose the document -> Order -> Download.

Before downloading, you should check that all completed courses have been entered to the student administration system. If you are missing credits/grades, please contact the teacher responsible for the course unit. For more information, please see Transcript of records

By request, the Transcript can be sent to your email. You must inform Student Mobility Services (incoming.tamk [at] tuni.fi (incoming[dot]tamk[at]tuni[dot]fi)) about this before you leave TAMK.

If you have already received all your credits and grades, you can also collect your official transcript by visiting Student Mobility Services before you leave TAMK.

Please note that all courses for which you have registered will appear on your transcript. TAMK's official grading scale is 1-5, other grades (such as more detailed grades in the 100-point scale in the student's home university) cannot be provided. For more information, please contact Student Mobility Services.

Credits and grades

One Finnish credit is equivalent to one ECTS credit. ECTS is a credit system designed to make it easier for students to transfer credits within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). For more information, please see the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

  • 1 ECTS credit = about 27 hours of work
  • 1 ECTS credit = 1 opintopiste, abbreviation: op (in Finnish)

ECTS credits reflect the course workload in relation to the workload of a full academic year, consisting of lectures, practical work, seminars, independent study (in a library, laboratory and at home), examinations and other assessment activities. In ECTS, 60 credits (1,600 hours) represent a full workload for one academic year (30 ECTS credits per semester).

TAMK uses a grading scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest grade. Some courses may be assessed on a scale of pass/fail basis (in Finnish: HYV/HYL).
