ORIENTATION 2024 TEXTILE AND MATERIAL ENGINEERING

Please note, that changes on this information are possible. Please follow New Students’ site closely before the studies begin.

Congratulations! You are about to start your studies in Environmental Engineering.

Your studies will begin on 27 August at 11.00 am (lecture room D1-04) in TAMK Main campus (Kuntokatu 3). There will be tutor students to guide you to the right place from the lobby.

Before the studies, make sure you have a well working laptop and take it with you.

Orientation Days 27 - 30 August 2024

The Orientation Days are mandatory and the best way to get started with your studies. You will meet with everyone in your study group and get to know each other, talk to the key people in building your future: your student tutors and teacher tutors, other lecturers, the head of your programme, your study counsellor, TAMK social counsellor, student union members and many more. You will also get to know various TAMK/TUNI electronic services which you need e.g. for enrolling on the courses, and you will see and hear about our facilities and services.

Communication

Microsoft Teams (later Teams) is an important communication channel during your studies at TAMK. Therefore, it is very important that you have access to it already before the Orientation days!

Request to joing the Teams group: Textile and Material Engineering 2024-2025 | Guidance and tutoring

In order to join your group's Teams, you first need to activate and authenticate your TUNI user account.

Curriculum and credit transfer for prior Bachelor's studies

Take a closer look at your curriculum to better understand your study and learning goals. The individual descriptions of courses include methods, teachers, timing of the course within the academic year, evaluation criteria and exam types.

This information is especially important if you wish to transfer credits for some previously completed higher education courses, since you need to propose the substitution and discuss the matter with your study counsellor.

If you have questions about accreditation or credit transfer, it is best to contact your Study Counsellor in advance to avoid the rush during the orientation days.
