FabLab Tampere - Digital Fabrication Lab for Learning and Innovation
FabLab Tampere is a fabrication laboratory that provides an open space for learning and innovation.
FabLab as a part of University of Tampere, is located on the Hervanta campus. We are part of the FabLab network, which includes more than 1,750 FabLabs globally. The network offers access to computer-controlled devices and thus promotes innovation.
The space with its machines is for the students, researchers and staff of the Tampere University community.
We provide you a wide selection of machines. You can find from the Lab eg. 3D printers and 3D scanners, laser cutters, embroydery and sewing machines, vinyl cutter and heat press, CNC routers and a wide range of hand and power tools. Use of the machines and space is free for individuals, you only pay for the materials.
We encourage you to use imagination. We provide access to the facilities, the skills, the materials, advanced technology, material and professional staff.
Everything starts with an idea. What you would like to do at FabLab?
In the fabrication laboratory, you are learning by doing and as you gain experience, you will be able to carry out increasingly demanding work. You can use the machines and different manufacturing techniques separately or combine them to make different parts of the product. Choose your way of working according to your interests and skills!
FabLab is a place to play, to create, to learn and share your skills.
