Settling, working and finding friends
Student tutors are older students who are trained to help new students on arrival and during the first year of studies. Their job is to help you in the practical matters of moving to Tampere and in settling into university life here.
Your studies at Tampere University start with an orientation period which begins with the Welcome Week and continues during the introductory course included in your degree programme.
The University provides students with academic counselling and guidance services that not only help you maintain academic progress and well-being but also encourages you to expand your expertise and take responsibility for your learning!

Study & Stay is Tampere University’s programme of activities and services for all our international degree students. The aim is to support our international students to study, live, and work or start a business in the Tampere area. During your studies you will be able to attend special Study & Stay sessions with experts from career services, the City of Tampere, study guidance, and other relevant services.

International House Tampere is a single service point for supporting internationals with living, working, studying, and connecting with local employers.
Planning a budget for your studies is important as all the students at Tampere University must fund their studies and living expenses themselves. Make sure that you have adequate funding and enough of financial means to pay for possible tuition fees, your studies and living expenses for the entire period of your study.

SportUni provides high quality and versatile sport services for students and personnel of Tampere Universities. You can use three campuses’ services for just one affordable fee!
The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) provides general, mental and oral health care services for students of universities and other institutions of higher education. You can use student health services if you are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a university and you have paid your student union membership fee.
