KAT.VAST.208 Sustainable business practices, lectures 5.3.–16.5.2025 Lectures on Tampere University city campus.&nbsp; The dates of the spring lectures will be updated in the autumn of 2024. Please note that the lectures have a attendance requirement. You can be absent from class once. Absence is replaced by a separate task. Sustainable business practices course covers responsibility in various business models, practices and contexts, for example limited companies, cooperatives, social enterprises, public organisations, and hybrid organisations.

The student is aware of how social, environmental and economic responsibility are linked to and contextualised in business practices. The student understands the diversity of business operations and key features of different business models. The student is aware of the opportunities and challenges provided by different business models in creating societal welfare and stakeholder value. The student is able search and evaluate research information, and verbalise the acquired knowledge in written text.

<h2>Prerequisites</h2>We strongly recommend that student complete the recommended prerequisites, especially the Business ethics course. This course consists of 8 lectures. The lectures are held on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays at 13-16.The &nbsp; &nbsp;lecture times will be confirmed in the beginning of 2024 as soon as &nbsp; the &nbsp;schedules have been agreed upon with visiting lecturers.The &nbsp;grading of the course consists of a group presentation and a learning &nbsp;diary. Students are encouraged to write the learning diary in pairs but &nbsp;it is possible to write it alone. Sustainable &nbsp;business &nbsp;practices course covers responsibility in various business &nbsp;models, &nbsp;practices and contexts, for example limited companies, &nbsp;cooperatives, &nbsp;social enterprises, public organisations, and hybrid &nbsp;organisations. &nbsp;Lectures include case exercises and visiting lecturers.
