Learning Outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to recognize the research potential and opportunities of the research community participating the course. The student will learn how to apply various research methods (both experimental and computational) employed by the fellow students and research scientists in the field of optoelectronics. During the course, the student will learn how to assess the impact of different research approaches to his/hers research. The student will master the skills required to present and defend his/her research achievements by participating in tutorial learning sessions (teams of 4-6 students) based on the shared expertise of the team members. The student will also master the skills required to report the results of the learning assignments using online learning management system.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
The assessment of the course is either Pass or Fail. The student can earn the passing grade, if he/she has completed all the learning assignments in a satisfactory manner. The learning outcomes can be achieved by making one presentation (20-30 min) based on a topic of the student's recent research, returning seven answers for the learning assignments given by other participants and participating seven discourses over the presentations yield 2 cr. The requirements for 2 cr can be extended upto total 15 cr. Instructions how to achieve the learning outcomes of the week performance and the project assignment can be found from the Moodle. This course is based on a blended learning method with 'flipped classroom' type of activities, so please bring your laptop/tablet/smart phone to the learning sessions.
