Learning Outcomes
- | The Automation Technology Master's degree provides skills to work in automation technology in R&D and leadership duties. Degree provides understanding of the effects of automation in different industries and after completing the student is able to
- acquire, process, evaluate, analyze and use information in a versatile, critical and ethical way - work as a member of the work community and to promote wellbeing at work and community - understand the importance of digitalisation in technology and utilize digital operating environments - understand the importance of customer orientation, sustainable and economically viable solutions in the development and production of products and services - be able to engage in constructive and expert social discussion - have sufficient financial and managerial skills and a readiness to expand this know-how The focus areas of the degree programme are: Factory Automation and Industrial Informatics and Robotics After completing the studies, the student knows the core technologies of his / her field and is able to use and apply key methods and tools in the field. In addition, students are able to acquire and analyze information critically in solving the problem of their field. The student is able to implement research and development activities using existing knowledge and methods in the field and to generate new knowledge and methods in the field. The student knows the development of his / her field and thus identifies the need to develop his or her competence in working life. The student is aware of his / her own activities and their consequences and knows the principles of good scientific practice and the research and professional ethics of their field. Essential skills in working life such as language, communication and cooperation skills are learned through different ways during the studies. The studies include individual, project and team work. At the end of the studies the Master's Thesis done from the topic of the major studies. After achieving the previous mentioned learning outcomes, students will meet the prerequisites for pursuing a PhD / Doctoral degree and continuous learning. |

You have to choose both of the modules to your degree. The major will be the module you are doing your Master Thesis.
Elective Studies, 9 cr
A student can freely select the courses which he/she wants to study. Finnish language studies are suggested as elective studies.
A student doesn't have to include elective studies in to the degree as long as the extent of the degree meets the minimum requirement of 120 cr.

Completion and reporting of a large independent scientific assignment. Student gains ability to understand the scientific and professional concepts of the major.In connection with the thesis, the student has to write a proficiency test, which is an essay on a topic related to the thesis.

The module you are doing your Master Thesis is your major. The other module will be your minor.
