Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, a student knows the physical and chemical properties and distribution and transformation of the most common detrimental elements in nature. The student is also able to evaluate the level of contamination and to choose a proper remediation method according to risk assessment. The student is able to design and develop remediation processes.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes

The grade will be determined on the basis of an exam (50%) and exercises (50%). To pass the course with a grade 1 the student will have to score at least 50 % of the maximum points. A good understanding the core content will suffice to a grade 3. In order to earn a grade 4 or 5 the student will have to have a good or excellent understanding of complementary knowledge.

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
