The departure will only concern the university’s and TAMK’s main accounts on the channel. Units, research groups and centres, and projects can continue to communicate on X.

Tampere University and TAMK will leave X (formerly Twitter) starting from January 7, 2025. Over the past two years, the university and TAMK have been monitoring the changes in social media channel X. The channel's impact has significantly decreased from what it used to be. At the same time, its nature and developmental direction have been unpredictable.

As we end our use of X, we will continue to communicate actively on our other channels, such as LinkedIn, Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook), and YouTube. On these channels, we can better support our goals of promoting research and education. We also aim to develop a more interactive communication culture on social media channels that support quality discussions and value researched information and expert perspectives.

The departure will only concern the university’s and TAMK’s main accounts on the channel (@TampereUni and @TAMK_UAS). Units, research groups and centres, and projects can continue to communicate on X.
